Das Carillon wurde anlässlich der Bundesgartenschau 1979 in Bonn errichtet. Das Carillon wurde in den Niederlanden gebaut, wo der Bau von Carillons im 17. Jahrhundert entwickelt wurde. Das Glockenspiel verfügt über 23 Glocken, die an einer Metallkonstruktion frei herunterhängen - ohne Glockenturm oder Glockenstube. Das Carillon wird mittels einer Tastatur durch einen Spieler bedient. Da für das Anschlagen der Glocken eine große Kraft erforderlich ist, wird das Manual mit der Faust gespielt.
The carillon was built on the occasion of the Federal Garden Show 1979 in Bonn. The Carillon was built in the Netherlands, where the construction of Carillons was developed in the 17th century. The carillon has 23 bells hanging freely on a metal structure - without a bell tower or belfry. The carillon is operated by a player using a keyboard. Because a large force is required to hit the bells, the manual is played with the fist.
