It is a Romanesque church, a period from which it retains some elements, especially its eleventh century choir. Saint Louis came to pray during the siege of Frontenay-Rohan-Rohan in 1242, and a painting recalls this episode, as well as a statue of the king. It was partially destroyed during the Hundred Years War or Wars of Religion and was rebuilt in the nineteenth century.

C'est une église d'origine romane, époque dont elle conserve quelques éléments, en particulier son chœur du xie siècle. Saint Louis vint s'y recueillir durant le siège de Frontenay-Rohan-Rohan en 1242, et un tableau rappelle cet épisode, ainsi qu'une statue du roi26. Elle fut partiellement détruite au cours de la guerre de Cent Ans ou des guerres de Religion et fut reconstruite au xixe siècle.
