With several convex signs, there is a couple of spots showing where you are (incorrectly) on the MidNorth Coast of NSW (south of Taree). * It appears to be showing the 'Picnic Area' on Lakes Way - the arterial road to Forster-Tuncurry; when you are just off of the Pacific Highway, at Possum Brush.
This northern side of the sign map shows a basic road map, from Singleton in the west, to Broughton Island in the south and Taree in the north. Apart from the Picnic Area icon for the Rest Area, there is only the Taree Airport, and five Tourist Information Centres identified. National Parks, Reserves and State Forests are indicated with light green zones.
The interpretative part of the sign gives information on National Parks, and local tourism.
The other side of the concave sign (southern side) has a map from Sydney, to Brisbane, showing the Inset map, that is on the other side. It also gives the history of the Aboriginal people of this region.
