Am 6. Juni 1908 ereignete sich in der Zelluloidfabrik der Brüder Sailer in der Roseggergasse 16 eine Brandkatastrophe, die 18 Menschen das Leben kostete. 15 wurden in diesem Ehrengrab der Stadt Wien beerdigt. Die anderen 3, darunter die Schwester der beiden Chefs, wurden auf anderen Friedhöfen beerdigt. Besonders tragisch war, dass etwa die Hälfte der Opfer jünger als 20 Jahre war. Die jüngste war gar erst 14 Jahre alt. Auf dem monumentalen Gedenkstein sind die Namen der 15 hier beerdigten Personen eingraviert. Darunter steht:

On June 6, 1908, a fire catastrophe occurred in the celluloid factory of the Sailer brothers in Roseggergasse 16, which cost 18 lives. 15 were buried in this honorary grave of the city of Vienna. The other three, including the sister of the two bosses, were buried in other cemeteries. Particularly tragic was that about half of the victims was younger than 20 years.
