Two marble plaques give the history of the preservation of this historic San Antonio home which dates from 1835.
The signs read as follows:

JUDGE & MRS. JOHN HERNDON JAMES
1884-1912
This house is more than 100 years old in 1936."

Mrs. Ferdinand P. Herff
In memory of her daughter
