The plaque is located opposite the Church of St Edward the Confessor, on the small stone wall of the area that was once the village pound.
The stone plaque, dated 1952 E II R 1977, tells us that this walled area was part of the village green during the Middle Ages and was used for the impounding of stray animals.

The inscription on the plaque reads as follows;
'1952 E II R 1977
THE VILLAGE POUND
THIS POUND WAS PART OF THE VILLAGE GREEN.
DURING THE MIDDLE AGESIT WAS USED FOR
THE IMPOUNDING OF STRAY ANIMALS.
THE KEEPER IS APPOINTED BY THE PARISH
COUNCIL AND THE POUND IS NOW CARED
FOR BY THE CHILDREN OF THE SCHOOL.
