Large gazebo located in the center of Virginia Field Park. Land for a city park was donated by the Houston and Texas Central Railroad in 1868.

Texas Historic Site Atlas

In 1895 the gazebo was constructed from the design of a New York architect. The gazebo is octagonal in plan and covered by a two-tiered roof.

It is raised above the ground on piers and steps lead inside on four of the sides.
