These spinning wheels used human foot-power to turn raw wool or cotton into thread and yarn. They were very common household appliances on farms across Texas.

The wheels are on permanent display near the Shotgun House/Tenant Farmer exhibit at the Institute of Texan Cultures in downtown San Antonio TX.
