This 1920s Icebox used a block of ice to keep food cold in homes that lacked electricity.

We saw no indication of who the manufacturer was, since the paint on the wood box has peeled off.

The icebox is on permanent display at the Shotgun House/Tenant Farmer exhibit at the Institute of Texan Cultures in downtown San Antonio TX.
