"The sale of Bank Star One locations, including those in Fulton and New Bloomfield, has been approved by state and federal regulatory agencies.

"Also included in the sale were Bank Star One branches in Camden and Miller counties.

"Bank Star One, a subsidiary of St. Louis based BancStar Inc., possesses four retail locations in Fulton, New Bloomfield, Osage Beach and Lake Ozark, with more than 85 million in assets.

"Joseph C. Stewart Jr., chief executive officer of Bank Star One, could not immediately be reached. He said in a statement that customers will be pleased. "For 29 years, Bank Star One has prided itself on bringing excellent banking service to our customers in Callaway County and the communities of Lake of the Ozarks," Stewart stated. "The time was right, we felt, to pass the baton to another great organization in Central Bancompany. Our customers will be pleased, I'm sure, and we wish Central Bancompany the very best."

"Central Bank has several locations and ATMs in Fulton, Holts Summit and Jefferson City. Bank Star One has a branch in Fulton at 118 W. Fifth St. and another on State Road J in New Bloomfield.

"According to the release, Bank Star One's locations will continue to operate under their current name until Central Bancompany performs a complete technical evaluation and integration of the Bank Star One systems. This integration is expected to be complete in mid-2017, at which point all Bank Star One facilities will be combined with existing Central Bancompany affiliate banks.

"Central Bancompany is a $12 billion, Missouri-based bank holding company with 13 full-service community banks and more than 250 locations in 66 communities serving consumers and businesses in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois and Oklahoma." ~ Fulton Sun, by Jenny Gray, February 26th, 2017
