This rural parish church can trace its origins to the C12th. It is in an isolated position away from the village it serves, but adjacent to the village primary school.
This World War I Memorial is on the south wall of the chancel of the church above the small, plain and much renewed C12th south door, positioned amongst other memorials. It is made of slate in four pieces of slightly different shades. The dedication and 17 names are incised into the slate and then painted a darkish red colour. The names are listed in date-of-death order together with the regiment they served in.
The inscription reads:
