The Alcanada Lighthouse is a lighthouse located on the islet of Alcanada, on the north side of the Bay of Alcudia, 5 km from the port of Alcudia, on the island of Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain.
It was inaugurated on May 15, 1861 as a 6th order lighthouse with catadioptric optics and fixed white light fed with olive oil. In 1883 a new lamp was installed, fed with paraffin, which was later replaced with oil. In 1917, rotating screens were installed to obtain an appearance of 3 + 1 occultations and the feed was changed to acetylene.
The headlight is automated in 1960 by changing the old flashlight visitable by another visitable not reduced and compact, its ignition was automated by solar valve changing the appearance by the equidistant flashes of white light. In 1985, acetylene was replaced by an electric lamp powered by 12 volt photovoltaic solar energy equipment, installing solar panels that supply a group of batteries.
