Ryegate Cemetery also known as Ryegate City Cemetery is in Golden Valley County, Montana. Ryegate is the county seat of Golden Valley County and one of the last counties created in Montana. Ryegate has approximately 236 residents including a Hutterite Colony located near Ryegate that was first established in 1978.
Ryegate Cemetery is approximately 3.5 acres in size, and is wide open prairie with a few trees. It is gently rolling hillside. There are approximately 405 known interments. There is a sandstone headstone badly eroded, however was able to located the name originally on the headstone:
Mary Allace Standley born in June and passed away August 16, 1915.
The first two known interments are:
Alice Elizabeth Cavill born in 1905 and passed away in 1914, she was about 9 years of age.
William Bracha was born on September 21, 1912 and passed away on October 21, 1914 at the age of 2 years of age.
