GOVERNMENT HOUSE, BRISBANE.
The official residence of the Governor of Queensland is prettily situated in the Domain on a " pocket" formed by a bend of the Brisbane
River, and known as Garden Point. The site is one of the prettiest about tbe metropolis, and while the house is perhaps not quite so palatial in its exterior as tho vice-regal residences of the Southern colonies, it is picturesque enough to form a pretty picture with the surrounding shrubs and trees and the undulating grounds whioh slope gently to the
water's edge.
