L'Industrielle Headquarters (Translated from the above text)

Founded in 1905 by businessman Bernard Leonard, L'Industrielle was the first insurance company to see the light of day in Québec. It was then called Industrial Life Insurance Co. Its merger in 1987 with the Alliance, Mutual Life Insurance Company, formed the Industrial Alliance Life Insurance Company.

The building that housed the headquarters of the company from 1930 to 1951, stood on these premises. It was, along with the former Bank of Montreal, located at the corner of St. Peter and Barricade Streets, one of the few works of Lawson & Little architects in Québec City.

In 1997, its stone walls were dismantled and then integrated, as a testimony of the past, to the new building of the National School of Public Administration.
