Richard Parker, former owner of KAND Radio, commissioned the statue to mark the history and tradition of the radio station for the Corsicana community. The statue will depict Aldama in honor of his 46 year broadcast career.
The statue depicts Aldama holding a microphone and wearing a straw hat and vest emblematic of the radio station’s “candy-striped” theme under Parker’s ownership.
