Le monument Bernardo-O'Higgins a été installé le vendredi 31 août 2007 au parc de l'Amérique-Latine. Il fait face au monument Simon-Bolivar.

Don du Chili au Québec, cette statue équestre représente Don Bernardo O'Higgins. Héros de l'indépendance chilienne, il a vécu de 1778 à 1842. Homme politique et chef militaire, il a occupé le poste de « directeur suprême » du pays de 1817 à 1823. Sous sa direction, en 1818 – année de la victoire qui chasse les Espagnols du sud du pays – le Chili proclame son indépendance.
Parmi les réalisations de Bernardo O'Higgins, mentionnons l'instauration d'une marine chilienne et l'établissement de relations diplomatiques dans toute l'Amérique.

Le dévoilement du texte commémoratif de cette statue équestre a eu lieu le 11 juin 2008, en présence de la présidente de la République du Chili, Mme Michelle Bachelet, et du premier ministre du Québec, M. Jean Charest.

The Bernardo-O'Higgins monument was installed on Friday, August 31, 2007 int Latin America Park. It faces the Simon-Bolivar monument.

Donated by Chile to Quebec, this equestrian statue represents Don Bernardo O'Higgins. Chilean independence hero, he lived from 1778 to 1842. Politician and military leader, he held the position of "supreme director" of the country from 1817 to 1823. Under his leadership, in 1818 - year of victory that hunt the Spaniards from the south of the country - Chile proclaims its independence.Bernardo O'Higgins' accomplishments include the establishment of a Chilean Navy and the establishment of diplomatic relations throughout America.

The unveiling of the commemorative text of this equestrian statue took place on June 11, 2008, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, and the Premier of Quebec, Mr. Jean Charest.
