A member of my camera club posted a picture of this bridge. If it's photogenic enough for posting to a camera club page, I figured it would be good for a waymark.
Glenwood was a subdivision in Midwest City. After a plane on approach to Tinker AFB crashed into the homes, the area was condemned and the houses razed. It is now used for training by the base.
On the north side of Glenwood is the remnants of a Burlington-Northern-Sante Fe railroad spur. Just after the tracks cross SW over SE 15ht St at the traffic light at Ocacma Blvd, in the sparse woods, sits the wooden tressel. On top, there is a walkway on the south side of the tracks. The wood in the structure is still pretty sound, except for the railings are getting pretty wobbly. The ties under the tracks are pretty rotten, and weeds and small trees are growing between ties. Someone has gone by and cleared much of the foliage off the tracks, possibly for photos.
It's a steep climb down to the ground level to get pictures of the tressel itself. Blowing trash and empty alcohol bottles litter the area. Obviously kids and possibly transients use this area regularly.
