Franz Rumpler:
Franz Rumpler war ein österreichischer Genremaler und Ehrenbürger von Tachau.
1904 ließ sich Franz Rumpler in Klosterneuburg nieder. Seine Genrebilder und Landschaften stellte er selten, jedoch mit großem Erfolg aus. Er war Mitbegründer des Klosterneuburger Künstlerbundes, wo er Ausstellungen für moderne Malerei organisierte und junge Künstler förderte, u.a. Egon Schiele. Die Deutsche Gallerie in Prag besaß in einem eigenen Rumpler-Saal zahlreiche seiner Werke.
In seiner Geburtsstadt Tachau wurde bereits 1874 der Hauptaltar der Franziskaner-Klosterkirche von ihm mit einem Bild der Hl. Maria Magdalena ergänzt. Rumpler hielt das Tachauer Franziskanerkloster und die Klosterkirche im Jahre 1895 auch auf einem Ölgemälde fest.
An seinem letzten Wohnort Klosterneuburg, als Mitbegründer des dortigen Künstlerbundes, war er korrespondierendes Mitglied der Gesellschaft zur Förderung deutscher Wissenschaft, Künste und Literatur in Böhmen.
Franz Rumpler starb am 7. März 1922. Seine letzte Ruhe fand er in einem Ehrengrab auf dem Wiener Zentralfriedhof. Sein künstlerischer Nachlaß wurde nach dem Ableben seiner Frau gemäß testamentarischer Bestimmung zu Gunsten Wiener Blindeninstitute versteigert.

Franz Rumpler:
Franz Rumpler was an Austrian genre painter and honorary citizen of Tachau.
In 1904 Franz Rumpler settled in Klosterneuburg. He rarely exhibited his genre paintings and landscapes, but with great success. He co-founded the Klosterneuburger Künstlerbundes (artists association), where he organized exhibitions for modern painting and promoted young artists, i.a. Egon Schiele. The German Gallery in Prague owned numerous of his works in a Rumpler hall of its own.
In the city of his birth Tachau, in 1874, the main altar of the Franciscan monastery church was supplemented by him with a painting of St. Mary Magdalene. Rumpler also recorded the Tachau Franciscan Monastery and the monastery church in 1895 on an oil painting.
At his last place of residence, Klosterneuburg, as co-founder of the local artist association, he was a corresponding member of the Society for the Promotion of German Science, Arts and Literature in Bohemia.
Franz Rumpler died on March 7, 1922. He found his last rest in a grave of honor at the Vienna Central Cemetery. His artistic estate was auctioned after the death of his wife according to testamentary provision in favor of Viennese institutes for the blind.
