Classicist Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary with Romanesque tower, with a new nave erected in 1825-1829, is a parish church of the local Roman Catholic community.
Current Classicist church's structure was erected at the site of medieval church of Virgin Mary from the 13th century. Original Romanesque church, rebuilt into double-nave Gothic structure in 1470, was subsequently reconstructed several times. Church was heavily damaged by earthquake in 1813 and despite subsequent repair it had to be demolished (1824). Only Romanesque tower, built separately in ca 1250, remained. The new rectangular single nave structure in Classicist style, smaller than original medieval church, was erected in 1825-1829.
