On Main Street in Wilson, on the southwest corner of 7th and Main, stands a two-story brick building which once housed The Bank of Wilson. The building has been painted white, and is currently vacant and needing renovation.
The ground floor has large segmented, wood-framed fixed pane windows, with a remodeled entrance consisting of two glass doors, sidelights and segmented transom. The upper floor has tall, one-over-one double hung windows, most of which are boarded up. The roof is flat with a raised parapet, a cornice, and a row of recessed brick panels at the roof line.
A local citizen reported that back in the early 1970s, she remembers that Cincinnati Reds catcher, Johnny Bench was a primary shareholder of the bank, and once came to town and signed baseballs for an eager group of adults and kids alike.
