Flags on display included: New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, Luxembourg or Netherlands, England, Germany.
This display may be connected to the Americas Cup yacht racing which NZ recently won. The next Cup challenge will be held in Auckland, New Zealand.

This display of countries flags flies above the Sailing Centre, a favourite spot beside the beautiful Lake Taupo, where we often stop to enjoy the view or watch the sailing in progress, or just enjoy a takeaway meal from one of the local fast-food shops. The Sailing Centre has a licensed cafe and bar which sits right over the lake; in fact the cafe sits over the water itself with panoramic views across the lake. It's a nice place to relax with a coffee, wood fired pizza now available or even a drink.

The cafe and bar is part of the Sailing Center, a short distance from central Taupo. It offers 16ft keelers, catamarans, windsurfers, canoes, kayaks, sailboats, paddle board and rowboats available for hire. The flags are flying above the building and jetty on the lake.
