The old photo was taken before the branch closed, probably in 1950s. Now flats to buy or rent. Notice the door has not changed, and the moulding above the door has neither. Is the damaged rendering above the door where the swinging bank sign used to be.

Crake Valley House used to be a bank branch. Originally a branch of an Ulverston bank, that merged with Kendal bank, before merging with Liverpool Bank, who were merged with Martins Bank, who were bought by Barclays bank.
Barclays closed this branch in 1970s. Their Ulverston branch is only 4 miles away.
