Statue atop this huge monument is a WWII era soldier, of Marine, does have cloth helmet cover, in combat fatigues, carrying an M-1 Garand rifle in a crouch-crawl moving forward toward the enemy.
Wearing on his back a combat pack, and hanging from his belt are grenades, a canteen and ammo pouches and, of course, his bayonet.
