As described by the NGS in 1987:
"ALONG FARM ROAD 1960 [...] IN HUMBLE, 19.5 M (64.0 FT) EAST OF THE WEST END OF A GUARDRAIL, 15.8 M (51.8 FT) WEST OF THE SOUTH END OF THE WEST ABUTMENT OF A ROAD BRIDGE SPANNING JORDAN GULLY, 6.0 M (19.7 FT) SOUTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE EAST BOUND LANES OF THE ROAD, 1.2 M (3.9 FT) EAST OF A UTILITY POLE WITH A GUY WIRE, AND 0.5 M (1.6 FT) SOUTH OF A GUARDRAIL. NOTE--ACCESS TO DATUM POINT IS HAD THROUGH A 5-INCH LOGO CAP. THE MARK IS 0.3 METERS N FROM A WITNESS POST THE MARK IS ABOVE LEVEL WITH THE ROAD."
The 1987 NGS description is still pretty accurate: the mark is located at the SW end of FM-1960's bridge spanning Jordan Gully, right by the road's guardrail and 4 feet east of a utility pole. However, the witness post is no longer present... and the logo cap is missing.
The NGS' currently posted coordinates ("N 29 59 57.00 W 095 14 25.95", or "N 29° 59.950 W 95° 14.433") were reasonably in line with my observations: my measurements came out to "N 29° 59.949 W 95° 14.432", as measured within 10' accuracy and 10+ reading averages (read: our respective measurements differ by about 6 or 7 feet).
The station was recovered in "decent" condition. The logo cap is missing, and I had to dig quite deep into the sleeve before finding the rod.. but the rod was luckily still in very good condition.
