The Garden of Remembrance is to the rear Port Erin Branch of
The Royal British Legion building on Droghadfayle Road.

The plaque which was unveiled at the opening of the Garden and has the following inscription in white-lettering:
'THIS PLAQUE WAS UNVEILED BY
HIS EXCELLENCY THE LIEUTENANT GOVENOR
MAJOR GENERAL SIR LAURENCE NEW CB, CBE.
ON THE 22nd JULY 1990
ON THE OCCASSION OF THE
DEDICATION OF THIS GARDEN OF REMEMBRANCE
BY
THE LORD BISHOP OF SODOR AND MANN
THE RIGHT REVEREND NOEL DEBROY JONES'

The service of dedication for the Garden was led by The Lord Bishop of Sodor and Mann, The Right Reverend Noel Debroy Jones on 22nd July 1990, and the Lieutenant Governor at that time, Major General Sir Laurence New C.B., C.B.E., unveiled a memorial plaque to record this event.

Major General Sir Laurence New C.B., C.B.E., had previously had a distinguished military career rising to be Assistant Chief of the General Staff in the British Army and Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff in the 1980's. He was a former commander of the 4th Royal Tank Regiment and in 1974 he was appointed as Defence and Military attaché in Tel Aviv in 1974.

Sir Laurence was Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man from 1985 until 1990.

At the centre of the Garden is a large dark wood cross mounted on a concrete base. The cross is set between two white flagpoles. The Garden has a rockery, flower bed various large pot and trellis work for climbing-plants.

The around the cross a paved area and three wooden bench where visitors can sit in quiet reflection on the sacrifices made by the brave men and women of the Parish who have given their lives in service of their country.

The entrance to the Garden features two ornate gate with the initials 'R.B.L" set into each for 'Royal British Legion'
