John J. Rothfus was born on May 30, 1912 and passed away April 6, 1993 at 80 years of age.

John J. Rothfus is a World War II Veteran in the Southwest Pacific Theater between 1942 to 1945 and served with the 13th Air Force, 307th Bomb Group and 371st Bomb Squadron: ”The Lone Rangers”
”Montana State Veterans Cemetery is owned and operated by Montana Department of Military Affairs, and is located on the grounds of Fort Harrison.

History
Montana State Veterans Cemetery was established in 1985 when the Montana State Legislature authorized the first state veterans cemetery to be located on Fort Harrison, near Helena. In 1986, the United States Congress authorized the transfer of 62.5 acres of Federal land to the State of Montana for this new cemetery. The first burial was a World War I veteran on September 8, 1987.”
