Mount Wilson is 'totally' isolated, [which is why they have such a well-run Bush Fire Brigade.] While the Minister, Reverend Tim McIver comes from Hat Hill, at Blackheath, and that could be 15 km ATCF (As The Crow Flies), it would take longer than 40 minutes for him to come out on the 2nd Sunday of each month, at 3 pm.
From the late 1800's, the gentry realised the therapeutic effects of clean cool air, and came out to this out-of-the-way mountain retreat. The Church has been built as a memorial to a businessman in 1916. It used a 'new' material, 'Fibro', imported from England and France. ex-Parish History website: (
