St Ippolyts C.E. Primary School is a c19th Tudor building ( Pevsner ) with lots of later additions both to the side elevations and to the rear. The two-storeyed house to the east - right as looking across Ashbrook Lane or from the church yard, an elevated position - was the schoolmaster's residence. The school's two rooms are built at right angles to each other with a porch between. The bell cote is at the junction of the roofs of the two rooms, built diagonally to the main run of the roof apices, it's of timber with louvres below the scallop-topped openings all capped with a slender lead-covered spire and topped with a stylised cross. There is still a bell in the cote, just visible in the gallery pics.
To the right of the bell cote is a similar construction but without the openings, slightly shorter as a result but with a similar slender spire and cross...not another bell cote, probably a ventilation opening for the romm beneath.
