The Playa de Muro - or Platja de Muro - is located in the northeast of Mallorca. The fine sandy white beach stretches for about six kilometers between the resorts of Puerto de Alcudia and Can Picafort. It offers the largest contiguous beach area in northeastern Mallorca.
The coastline falls very flat over the entire length of the beach into the deeper water.
The Playa de Muro is divided into four sectors:
Sector 1 joins the Playa de Alcudia. Its southern border is formed by a canal and a pier, which draws far into the sea. Here, among other excursion boats.
Sector 2 extends to a dune area, which is a protected and completely undeveloped natural oasis.
Sector 3 - Es Comu - is a very idyllic and quiet beach area, which is not managed and can only be reached by walking. Nudists have found a refuge here.
Sector 4 - the southernmost part of Playa de Muro - extends to Can Picafort. He is also referred to as Es Capellans or Casetes des Capellans. The name reminds us that there used to be a settlement of small summer cottages on this stretch of coast, where, among other things, the pastors (capellans) of the village of Muro spent their holidays.
