The town of Healdton was established in 1888 and named for Charles H. Heald. In 1913, when the Healdton Oilfield began producing, this cotton-producing town's population swelled. The Zaneis School District of Wilson, Oklahoma established its District #7 in Healdton. In 1985, when this teacher's dormitory was placed on the National Register of Historic Places, this was the last remaining teacher's dormitory in the Healdton Oilfield area. It was located east of the Zaneis Elementary School. This two-story dormitory was razed in 2004.
