Originally built in 1852 as the First Methodist Church of Batavia. The building is constructed of locally quarried limestone and is in a Greek Revival style. The building served as a church until 1887 when a new Methodist Church was built in Batavia. The building was used from that time as a school building in the Batavia Comunity School District until 1976. In 1978 it was purchased and converted into offices for an insurance agency.
