Minister Creek Campground - Allegheny National Forest, PA - Campgrounds on Waymarking.com

Minister Creek campground is a small and almost secluded campground within the Allegheny National Forest. There are 6 campsites, some of them backing onto Minister Creek. This campground has basic amenities - a hand pump for drinking water and outhouses for washrooms. All sites are first-come first served and payment must be made by cash using the self-pay system. Although small, this campground may get busy on weekends - particularly when fishing is at it's best (not sure when that is). we visited on a weekday in August and found only one campsite occupied - and one of those occupants was standing in the creek fishing for trout. This is bear country and those same occupants told us that a bear had recently been spotted in the campground. Photos of most campsites are shown at the bottom of this listing

The Allegheny's smallest campground with six family campsites sits along the babbling waters of Minister Creek.

The Minister Creek Trailhead is situated directly across SR 666 from the campground where the popular 6 mile loop Minister Creek Hiking Trail starts and ends at the trailhead. Minster Creek Hiking Trail connects to the North Country National Scenic Trail at its northern most point.

This site is open April 1 to December 15, 2017 This site is now a carry-in; carry-out facility, which means that visitors must carry out their trash and recycling. Campers may burn paper products, but must carry out foil, glass, cans, plastics or food waste.

No reservations are accepted. This campground is a first come, first served site.
