Brown End Farm Cycle Hire are situated midway between Leek and Ashbourne on the A523.
"From Leek, go straight through Waterhouses, then left over the small stone bridge by our sign board, just before leaving the village. From Ashbourne, turn right over the stone bridge immediately after the Waterhouses village sign."

The Manifold Track can be accessed directly from the cycle hire location avoiding the busy main road.

There are various bikes to choose from, including All-terrain and mountain bikes, tandems, and for the children smaller bikes, buggies, or trailer-bikes.

Helmets, puncture-kits, pumps, locks and baskets are all free of charge (subject to availability).

"The Manifold Track, is a track for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. It follows the route of the disused Leek and Manifold Valley Light Railway, through the Manifold and Hamps Valleys from Waterhouses to Hulme End. The track is surfaced and fairly level throughout its length, making it ideal for wheelchair users, those with buggies or prams and people with limited mobility. Watch out for the rivers of the Manifold and Hamps as they disappear beneath the porous limestone and reappear in Ilam Country Park. Climb the steps to Thor's Cave (250 ft above the track) for magnificent views across the valley. There are Car Parking areas at both ends of the track and at Intermediate locations." (visit link)
