Located on the south side of E. Main Street (Highway 70A) in downtown Wilson, a small park area holds several monuments and commemorations.

This is a gray granite monument standing on two horizontal base stones. Flying above the monument are the flags of the United States, Oklahoma, the City of Wilson, and the POW/MIA flag.

The monument is engraved "THEY GAVE FOR OUR FREEDOM / Wilson Area KIA's" Beneath that on the front, and on the back of the monument is a list of 30 military personnel who were killed in action in service to our country, from 1918 to 2007. For each entry, the name of the person, the field of operation in which they lost their life, and the year are shown. For some, also the branch of service. One example is: Billie J. Dukes, Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941, USN
