This memorial is located in Princeton, Ontario's Memorial Park. The plaque is shared with a World War II memorial and also honours the former memorial library located here. The monument was built and dedicated on August 15th, 1998 by the local community with direction from the Princeton and District Historical Society.
The library was built in 1921 and named Soldiers Memorial Library. The facade name of the library is still preserved on the back of the monument.
