[CZ] Antonín Zápotocký (1884 -1957) byl ceskoslovenský komunistický politik, odborový predák a pozdeji premiér Ceskoslovenska a také historicky druhý ceskoslovenský komunistický prezident. Stal se nechvalne známým predevším svým lživým rozhlasovým projevem z 29. kvetna 1953 ... "naše mena je pevná a menová reforma nebude". Ale o dva dny pozdeji se ceská menová reforma uskutecnila.
Obyvatelstvo pri menové reforme utrpelo znacné ztráty, vetšinou prišlo o celoživotní úspory. Ve svém dusledku byli zlikvidováni živnostníci, obchodníci a drobní podnikatelé, kterí prišli o provozní kapitál, a proto své firmy zavírali sami nebo je „dobrovolne" prevádeli do státního ci družstevního sektoru.
[ENG] Antonín Zápotocký (1884 -1957) was a Czechoslovak Communist politician, trade union leader and later Prime Minister of Czechoslovakia and historically second Czechoslovak Communist President. He became infamous about his lying radio speech on 29 May 1953 ... "our currency is solid and the currency reform will not be." But two days later the Czech currency reform took place.
The population undergoing monetary reform has suffered considerable losses, life-time savings have been lost. As a result, traders, dealers and small businessmen who lost their working capital were eliminated and therefore their companies closed themselves or were "voluntarily" transferred to the state or cooperative sector.
