These two lions, and the bank they guard, are found on the "Bund", the historic quarter of old Shanghai. This building and the region stretch back to the glory days of empire and global trade.
The lions recline facing outward on either side of the main entrance, similar in appearance one lion is open mouthed, no doubt roaring defiance.
