The plaque says, "In honor of Thomas Gorsuch Young commemorating the 10th year of his presidency of Oak Lawn Cemetery. He assumed his duties May 18, 1918 as a labor of love. He enhanced the natural beauty of the land with trees, flowers and lawns to make this cemetery fitting abode for the beloved dead.
