This sign indicates that this location is the site of the first brick church in the village of Clyde, New York. It is the first brick Baptist Church located in Clyde and was built in 1833 and used as the Baptist Church of Clyde until 1954. It then became the Clyde public library from 1955 until 1995. At that point, it was turned over to the Galen Historical Society which eventually turned it into the Galen Historical Society Museum. There is also a time capsule located in front of the sign that will be opened in the year 2035 that was placed there by the Galen Historical Society.
