The Texoma Hamarama is held each year on the 4th weekend in October. This two-day event is a gathering place for amateur radio enthusiasts in the Oklahoma/Texas area. Held at the Ardmore Convention Center (2401 N. Rockford Road), it is a place where ham radio merchandise can be bought from new equipment vendors, as well as second-hand from individuals' tables. Whether you're interested in the very latest of technology, or looking for an obscure vacuum tube for an old piece of equipment you inherited from your grandfather, this is the place to come.

The non-profit organization proceeds are used for door prizes, operating costs, and rental of the venue.

The hamfest opens on a Friday from 5:00-8:00pm, and again on that Saturday from 8:00am - 1:00pm. For a nominal fee, you can wander throughout the hamfest, meet up with folks you only see once a year, take a license exam, attend one of the ham-related forums, or just walk around enjoying the feel and smell of ham radio. There are even booths with handmade items "manned" by various wives. If you are a ham radio operator, or perhaps interested in becoming one, this is a must-see.

Remember: the fourth weekend in October. Talk-in frequency: 146.97. The 2018 Hamarama dates will be October 26-27.
