This simple monument of a bronze plaque affixed to a block of pink granite was arrested in honor of MAJ Murray L. Wortham, USAF, a native of San Augustine, who was shot down in combat during the Vietnam War, and eventually presumed dead.
The marker is located on the north side of the San Augustine County Courthouse, on the right side of the grounds. It is next to the tall San Augustine County Veterans Memorial.
The memorial reads as follows:
