Saint Joseph is the Patron Saint of Croatia, and this Catholic Church is the votive church for local carpenters. The statue features Saint Joseph holding a child, presumably Christ.
The Church was built in 1668 to replace one destroyed in the earthquake of 1167. It was constructed by the local carpenters and shipbuilders fraternity.
The statue of Saint Joseph was erected in 1794. The inscription indicated that he is the Patron Saint of the local workers.
