Using broken ceramic tile of muted colours, mainly blue of various shades, and brown, yellow and green, this mosaic surrounds the fire-pit that visitors are welcome to enjoy, and contemplate the history of the area.

The symbolism of the mosaic is centred on the Karuah River, and the surrounding forests, and some of the wildlife. There is 'unimproved seating' around the fire-pit, in the form of medium sized logs outside the mosaic circle.

There is sign beside the fire-pit, with some prose from one of the indigenous locals, which puts you in the mindset to appreciate the mosaic. the Mosaic was designed by Caroline Hale, with the concept of the fire-pit by Vicki Sienczuk. The project was organised by the Karuah Working Together Committee. [Full script can be found in the Australian History Marker: "Karuah Meeting Place"]

The inaugural use of the fire-pit was Saturday, 11th February, 2006
