Adamine Crémieux, propriétaire de la Commanderie à Ballan-Miré, fonda ce petit hôpital appelé l’Hospitalité . À sa mort, en 1900, « l’Hospitalité » sera léguée aux religieuses dominicaines de la Bretèche avant d’être transformée en hôpital militaire, lors de la guerre de 1914 – 1918. Marguerite Brandon, une des filles d’Adamine, y soignera les blessés. Après les deux guerres, « l’Hospitalité » restera une maison de repos et de convalescence. Depuis le départ des religieuses, il y a quelques années, elle était restée fidèle à sa vocation première.
De nos jours, c’est une résidence privée avec de nouveaux bâtiments..
