"Village president J. C. Bagley today said rains have helped, but residents still should conserve, water. Last week, residents were asked to save water by not watering lawns and gardens. "We had a little rain and that helped," Bagley said, "We're not wanting to sprinkle lawns yet, but we're not out of water." Drought and hot weather had increased the use of water, the president said. Other than sprinkling, water usage is about usual. "We're coming along alright," Bagley said." ~ Galesburg Register-Mail, Tuesday, July 19, 1977, page 10
