[GER] Das Gebäude der ehemalige Volksschule in der Von-Essen-Straße ist ein typisches Beispiel für die Backsteinschulen der 1920er-Jahre in Hamburg. Seit 1996 beherbergt sie das Hansa-Kolleg. Architekt soll ein Schüler Fritz Schumachers gewesen sein.
Das Wappen wird von zwei Kindern gehaltenund ist mit Blumenranken umgeben. Über dem Wappen ist der Kopf einer jungen Frau dargestellt als würde sie über allem wachen.
[ENG] The building of the former elementary school in Von-Essen-Straße is a typical example of the brick schools of the 1920s in Hamburg. Since 1996 it has housed the Hansa-Kolleg. The architect is said to have been a pupil of Fritz Schumacher.
The coat of arms is held by two children and is surrounded by flower tendrils. Above the coat of arms, a young woman's head is depicted as if she were watching over everything.

[GER] Das Wappen von Hamburg zeigt in Rot eine hervorkommende silberne Burg mit geschlossenem Rundbogentor, auf dem Zinnenkranz mit sieben Zinnen drei Türme, die beiden Äußeren vierfach gezinnt und von je einem sechszackigen silbernen Stern überhöht, der mittlere großer mit Kuppel, darauf ein Knauf und ein Kreuz.
[ENG] The coat of arms of Hamburg shows in red a protruding silver castle with a closed round arched gate, on the battlements with seven battlements three towers, the two outer ones tinned fourfold and each heightened by a six-pointed silver star, the middle big one with dome, on it a knob and a cross.
