This state-accepted historic marker is a metal plaque affixed to a block of Texas pink granite.
It is located along the SH 21 west of the Neches River in a roadside pullout, co-located with an El Camino Real DAR marker.

Was founded in this vicinity summer 1690 "on the banks of the Arcangel San Miguel" (Neches) River. Erected A.D. 1934 by De Zavala Chapter, Texas Historical and Landmarks Association.
