« The building was built in 1927 by Delcourt Frères on the plans of the architect Jean Boissel who won the contest organized by the municipality (the losers were Louis Quételart and André Pouthier).
This contest was only open to architects domiciled or patented in Le Touquet before 1 January 1924.
The architect wanted to keep the memory that this building was built on the site of the old church of Saint John, hence the architectural fantasy of the small bell tower.
Collaborated: the ceramist Delassus and the glass-painter Jeannin Gaëtan.
Originally, the entrance was planned on London Street, so in the same orientation as the chapel. On August 31, 1926, after the testimony of two opposing petitions, the question of the main entrance was debated: rue de Londres or rue de Metz?
Historic session of the municipal council, entrance to Metz street wins by 11 votes against 8 and 1 abstention.
It is not over: in March 1927, the Boulonnais establishments building the building are in liquidation judicial a few months from the planned opening! The municipal council then assigns the completion of the work to the company Delcourt and the Post office is open on the scheduled date.”

Ce concours ne fut ouvert qu'aux seuls architectes domiciliés ou patentés au Touquet avant le 1er janvier 1924.
L'architecte a voulu garder le souvenir que ce bâtiment a été construit à l'emplacement de l'ancienne église Saint-Jean, d'où la fantaisie architecturale du petit clocher.
Ont collaboré : le céramiste Delassus et le peintre-verrier Jeannin Gaëtan.
À l'origine, l'entrée était prévue rue de Londres, donc dans la même orientation que la chapelle. Le 31 août 1926, après la déposition de deux pétitions opposées, la question de l'entrée principale est débattue : rue de Londres ou rue de Metz ?
Séance historique du conseil municipal, l'entrée rue de Metz l'emporte par 11 voix contre 8 et 1 abstention.
Ce n'est pas fini : en mars 1927, les établissements boulonnais qui construisent le bâtiment sont en liquidation judiciaire à quelques mois de l'ouverture prévue ! Le conseil municipal attribue alors l'achèvement des travaux à l'entreprise Delcourt et la Poste est ouverte à la date prévue.»
