Hvidsten Kro hører til landets ældste. De ældste bygningsdele på Hvidsten kro stammer tilbage til Chr. d. 4.'s tid. Kroen blev bygget i 1634 ved den gamle Mariagerlandevej - i kirkebyen Hald. Da man senere rettede vejføringen ud, så den nye vej kom til at passere Hvidsten, flyttede kroen med.
I dag har kroen 5 værelser med i alt 10 senge. Der er restaurant, egen parkeringsplads og kun 10 km til Randers.
HISTORISK KRO
Man kan notere sig mange skiftende ejere - helt indtil 1884, da Fiil slægten kom til. Det blev i særlig grad kroparret Marius og Gudrun, som korn til at præge kroen. Begge var optaget af den gamle bondekultur, og Marius lå ustandselig på farten for at opkøbe seværdige og spændende ting til kroen. Kroen er kendt for Hvidsten gruppens involvering under 2. verdenskrig. Modstandsgruppen var under ledelse af Marius Fill, hvilket er filmatiseret i filmen 'Hvidsten gruppen'. I 1984 havde familien Fill 100 års jubilæum på stedet - og kroen har i dag bestået i 350 år.

Hvidsten Kro is one of the oldest inns in the country. The oldest building parts at Hvidsten Kro originate from the time of King Christian IX. The inn was built in 1634 at the old Mariager road - in the village Hald. When the siting of the road was later straightened, so that the new road now passed Hvidsten, the inn moved too.
The inn has a capacity of 5 rooms with a total of 10 beds. There is a restaurant, own parking place and only 10 kilometres to Randers.
HISTORICAL INN
There has been many successive owners - up to 1884 when the Fiil family came along. It was in particular the couple Marius and Gudrun who marked the inn. Both of them were engaged in the old peasant culture, and Marius was constantly on the move buying exciting objects of interest for the inn. In 1984, the family had 100 years' jubilee at the inn - and the inn had existed for 350 years.
